About the University
JIS University was established through the Legislative Act of the Government of West Bengal, viz. JIS University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act XXII of 2014), which came into force in February 2015. The University’s mission is to be one of the top-class universities in India and a preferred destination for students, research scholars, and faculty members alike.

About the Department
JIS University offers various contemporary papers in legal sciences along with the compulsory papers offered by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The course structure ensures the overall development necessary to build a successful career in the legal arena. Regular moot courts, debates, seminars, court visits, lok adalats, and legal aid camps organized by the Department of Legal Sciences add to the legal skill development of the law aspirants.

Eligibility
– Students duly enrolled and pursuing a full-time 5-year or 3-year undergraduate law course from India or from a foreign university with law as a major may apply.
– Maximum 5 teams from an Institute are eligible to participate.
– A team should comprise a maximum of 3 members (2 Speakers and 1 Researcher) or 2 Speakers.
– A team comprising students from different institutions is eligible to apply.

Registration
Each team shall register for the 3rd National Moot Court Competition, Department of Juridical Sciences, JIS University by filing the registration form in the prescribed manner by July 25, 2024. On receipt of the duly filled registration form, the institute shall respond to the participating team, acknowledging receipt. After the registration deadline, the Moot Court Committee shall respond to each registered team with a unique team code, which shall be used to identify the teams during the competition. Bring a hard copy of the Bonafide Certificate duly signed and sealed by the competent authority of the institution.

Fee Details
– The registration fee for the event is Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred) per team.
– The registration fee is to be paid through NEFT transfer or UPI. No other payment method shall be accepted.
– Any additional charges incurred by the team while making the wire transfer are to be borne by the team.
